Everything we need for our survival and well-being depends, directly or indirectly, on our natural environment. Sustainability is more than reducing environmental impacts, it is looking comprehensively at natural, human and economic systems and finding solutions that support the quality of life for all.

We, BohioUp, seek sustainability by creating and maintaining the necessary conditions under which human beings and nature can exist in productive harmony to support present and future generations.

Our thinking approach allows us to manage natural resources and design solutions so that people can thrive in a sustainable space, adapting in this way to the concept “Triple Bottom Line”, a concept introduced by John Elkington in 1998.

How can we apply the Triple Bottom Line / Sustainability?

Thinking, designing, planning and building green buildings, with solutions that represent a healthy and dynamic balance between environmental, social and economic benefits.

How can we develop sustainable projects?

An unbalanced use of natural resources to supply material goods and services is the main cause of air pollution, ecosystem deterioration, plastic pollution, and climate change. By building ecologically we can reduce that environmental damage and improve the human and environmental health of those who use them.

There are several ways to organize a green building project, we use the LEED system . It is a holistic system that doesn’t just focus on one element of a building, such as energy, water or health, but analyzes the big picture taking into account all the critical elements that work together to create the best building possible. The goal of LEED is to create better buildings for:

  • Reducing the contribution to global climate change
  • Improve individual human health
  • Protect and restore water resources
  • Protect and improve biodiversity and ecosystem services
  • Promote sustainable and regenerative material cycles
  • Improve the quality of life of the community
